We had an uneventful but crowded flight to Frankfort, Germany with just a few hours sleep. The Frankfort airport is huge, and we had to go through Israeli security again - they are indeed very thorough!! Unfortunately, we were in for a rude awakening when we landed in Tel Aviv as none of our baggage was on the plane - in fact there was no baggage on the plane as there had been a computer failure in the baggage department at Frankfort, so no baggage was sorted! Luckily most of us had packed an extra pair of shorts and some necessary items, though we did stop at a mall on the way home! They tell us that we will be getting our luggage tomorrow! We'll see!
Israel and Jerusalem are beautiful. Our hotel, the Mount Zion Hotel is magnificent, and we keep getting lost - it is on the hill overlooking the old city. We ate a scrumptious dinner together and called it a day!
We have a big day tomorrow with an all day visit to Yad Vashem, the Jewish Holocaust and Resistance Museum. I'm sure it will be both educational and emotional.

Mt. Zion is a great hotel. I've stayed there with my groups several times. Great swimming pool!
ReplyDeleteSo you met Marcia. That is so cool! I was hoping it would work out that way. Yad vShem is an incredible institution. Did you have seminars and programs there as well as going through the museum?
